The slave cylinder? Which one the brake (caliper), or the clutch?

Obvious cracks and leaking would be a start.

well... it cracks and leaks...

my clutch slave cylinder failed on me once... clutch-in, downshift and it didn't "bounce back". Had to tow it... why did it happen? I don't know

slave looks good but master makes hi tone noise when i depress
pedal so i assume that replacing of master cyl will do the trick
