JL Subs

Well In a few weeks I will be putting a system in my 85' 528e.

I've decided on
Subs: (2) JL 12W6v2's
Amp: JL 500/1
Head Unit: Alpine 9815
Speakers: either Infinity or MB Quart ( but I know nothing about speakers and only know that they are good companys, so if you have any help, please feel free to drop a line.)

Now where can I find these subs?, I recentally saw in the Toronto Sun, JL 10W0 at "Stereo1" in ad advertisement. Also heard "The Art of Noise" on Dundas and "Nosh"(spelling?) in Newmarket also sell JL Audio.

I've still only got my G1 so its a pain in the ass tryin to drag my dad around to all these places, so I am turning to you guys.

so can someone PLEASE tell me where can i buy JL 12W6v2's - And what will it cost me.

Thanks in advance,

///Matt

It's going to cost you close to 3 grand for the JL amp and subs alone. Kinda overkill.

I bought a 12" JL w6v2 and they are amazing! I had the W3v2 and upgraded to the w6. The best upgrade I ever did!!! You know how BMW's are known for being so sound proof, well the W6 has no problem shaking my noise hair in the front...
I got mine from Art of Noise in Brampton. I'm a regular customer, so I get good deals. Drop in and tell him Steve sent you, I'm sure he can set you up with a good deal on the sub and amp.

I dont know too much about JL woofers.. But from referals, alot says they are good entry stuffs.! If getting the top of the JL line, of course, its gonna be something really awsome.

You know what, I like your car deck, where you are getting.!!!
Alpine deck are so lovely, and they perform well and price wise are not anything that rip people's ass off.

Wait, you want to power 2 W6's with a 500/1? Look up the power ranges again, you're looking at 500rms to EACH sub.

actually I think they're 400 rms each... but you're right, he'll still need a bigger amp to power them at their best.

500 is the edge of their optimum section of the range chart.

250 to a W6 is a waste, you might as well get W3's.

You've never seen the charts? To me they are one of the best features of JL subs, on the site (www.jlaudio.com) they have a .pdf chart which shows the power ranges of each sub. Great stuff.

are u talking about this? if u are, optimal seems at about 400 to me... although I'm sure it'd handle 500 pretty fine
