91 Octane after sharking????

i have the shark now sitting in my room here for 2-3 months and i wanted to download it this weekend finally.

i was wondering if i have to put then only 91 octane and higher in the car or not. i read the whole user guide and all the papers that came with it but i can't find anywhere that i have to use 91+ octane gas after i put it in.

Oh yeah. Whenever you chip a car it usually always requires you to have 91 octane or higher. 89 is fine for the car without the chip (For me when gas prices are high!), but when I think if you chip the car, it has to be Super (91 AKI)
Ciao

I always use the Sunoco Ultra 94, i also tried this stuff, an octane boost called 104+, they have a street/racing version of the product, it is a winner (IMHO)!

Esso 92, where as petro only has 91, If your in islington area, the esso at islington and dixon has one of the cheapest gas prices.

Sunoco charges a bit extra for its 92, 11 cents higher than 87 as opposed to the 10 cents that esso and petro do for their premium gasoline. So you'd probably be better off getting their 94.

I usually just get 92 at Esso since my car is pretty much a gas guzzler and the chip likes the higher octaine.

I use Petro Canada (I got ~75,000 points) and I use 91.

It even says on the dashboard use 91 or higher.

BTW notjoe, how do u manage to put out 210hp with chip and intake?

Well, at 5300 rpm the stock HP is 190, with the Dinan Software upg. (stage one) it went to 198hp. That with the High Flow Cold Air Intake system, which adds 12hp at around the same rpm bring it up to that.

This is just based off the stats dinanbmw.com provides and i look forward to actually putting it on a dyno soon to see what it can really do. Big difference in stats and actual HP gain experienced but i will find out soon enough and let ya know!

I was wrong about the sunoco gas and was told to stay away from it because it uses something called gasahol and it messes with the o2 sensors.

Guys over at engineered automotive suggested to use esso or shell when i had some stuff done to it today.

I trust their opinion!

Interesting conversation...

Hey guys,
am a newbie so bear with me if you please. I've got an E34 535i and it only runs well on 91+, and its not even chipped...Actually with this car , the higher the octane rating the better. Down here in the US we have a place that sells 100 octane race gas. I think its the high compression ratio...
If you ever make it down to Buffalo for anything, putting $20 US worth in your tank is a must... your car will thank you for it *devil*

BTW you can buy it at the Delta Sonic Car Washes down here

and its about $3.75US per Gallon (2.2 L I think)
