No its on the front side of the air box itself, rather than the back side where it connects to the MAF.

beamerboycsl's link makes it clearer.

wow, i just debafled my intake, and you can hear the engine in the higher revs. i am loving it. i also have a K&N drop in filter that helps as well.

this is just a quick fix untill i get my carbonio intake, i can wait for that.

is it really louder and deeper sound. Does it actually sound like you have an intake or not?

its not really deeper, you can just hear the engine better, a little louder, and the RPM sound like they are climbing fast than b4.

it doesnt really sound like an intake, i think intake you hear more in the lower RPM growl.

Yes, there is a baffle in the 318 airboxes too.
