E30 Questions

Hey guys...

I've got an e36 318is ... 135,000+ miles... it's a great car, couple of minor annoyances that only I would know, but I've just now had a thought of switching to an E30 ...

I'd like to get an M3 but that's doubtful (finding a good one for cheap, plus insurance...) so I was thinking about getting a 318/325 and putting in a used M3 engine in there. How hard would this be? Is it doable? I'm assuming I would need springs/shocks/sways to also make it more like a real M3.

What do you guys think? Doable?
