My 2.5s Altima Vs. RX-8

Hi all,

My buddy jst got a new Rx-8 6spd fully loaded model..

He came by wanting to know what kind of 0-100 runs he would do with my G tech Tester..

We did 4 runs 7.25,7.45,7.55,7.37

I WAS SHOCKED AND WONDERED WHAT THE HELL WAS GOING ON..

i have used my g tech on many differnt cars and has been accurate with numbers....

I decided to bring him over to my 04 2.5s 5spd and give it a try ..( i have a intake thats it)

I did 7.1 7.25 7.3 with him in the car...he was shocked and i didnt know what was going on..

We had to settle it then..me and him got are cars and waited for a light and let the hammer down.....

IT WAS HEAD TO HEAD TILL ABOUT 100 THEN HE STARTED TO PULL A BIT AND WE BOTH SHUTDOWN AND DID IT AGAIN( HE IS FUMMIN AT THIS POINT)

DID ANOTHER RUN AND SAME RESULT UP TO 100 KM AFTER HE WAS PULLING HARD AWAY FROM ME .....

whats with the super slow 0-100 for these rx-8's for that cash it should have a lot faster low end.... Im very disapointed in that car was expecting much more

I feel even worse for my buddy... Should of got a 330ci like i told him

did u try driving his car?......maybe he can't shift as good.

specs:
238 hp @ 8500 rpm
159 lb-ft @ 5500 rpm

plus a 9k redline, must be the driver.

ur altima has 175 hp @6000rpm and 181 lb-ft of torque .
maybe its the low torque

RX-8's suck, thats why.
lol...
RSX Type S is faster stock for stock! Rx8 is over rated anyways, Mazda offered every owner of a brand enw rx8 $500 back for hte error..lol
When the TT version comes out, then we're talking!

well that sucks but he should have done research before the buy.

if you test 25+ cars you should have a good idea of what you are buying.

buying what super street says is cool is dumb.

you were right is saying he should have got a 330i.

wwell, a new 330 is way more than a rx8

rx8 is like 38 fully loaded, 330ci is above 40 base with NOTHING.

people say the s2000 is slow downlow, but if you watch racing videos for track racing, s2000 can beat an e46 m3

seems to me you have to shift that thing right before limiter to get any sor of power from it, similar to a S2000, so im sure he can cut that 0-100 by a second... plus what is this guy doing beating on a brand new car?

*correction

RX8 is not 38 grand fully loaded. The price starts off by 41 grand. thats not even fully loaded (sunroof, leather interior. etc... not included) you'll end up paying 52 grand after they include the tax and shit.

Anyone ever hear the saying 'HP sells cars, Torque wins races?'

Too many people focus on the HP rating, and totally ignore the torque rating when looking at a car's numbers.
