cluster removal

I got the cluster out however I can't split the cluster in half. I see the 4 tabs on the back but something else is stopping it from comming apart. Please help if you can. Thank you.

ok then remove two bolts at top of cluster

Pull cluster out

Remove connectors (which require pushing down right behind the "bar" that goes across the connector and sliding the "bar" down the slope. You'll know what I mean when you see it.

Use Short torx to get inside, I don't remember the size... T12 comes to mind

Just haven't bothered to replace mine since it hasn't gotten any worse over the last couple of years.

You can also try writing to Bmw Canada and tell them that the part they installed in your car is defective. There have been so many people complaining of the same problem that BMWNA has a hidden warranty.

They supply part and you pay 2 hours labour.

BMW Canada on the other hand has sent me a letter telling me (very politely) to go pound sand....

I suspect BMWNA went to the part manufacturer and got them to supply a replacement part for free and since customer pays install, BMW isn't out any money..

Thanks man for the response I read the how to do clean up but don't really want to mess wid it and make it worse. I gonna try the BMWNA route or if anyone on here can offer any other good ideas????????????????????????????

Probably fighting a lost cause but I contacted BMW Canada and spoke to some lady she said she would get back to me.

Probably wid some bullshit!!!

Altho not much input was provided on this board (for this topic)I'm sure there are many passive members also interested in a resolution to the cluster issue...
