Now I'm paranoid !!!!

After hearing about BIMMERSPORT'S car being stolen, i've been on the lookout....

Just a few minutes ago there was a guy driving around the parking lot with black tinted windows and he was going around and around.

Blue 2 door E30 325e with plates AKZS 668

DAM I'm freaked out !!!!

Your E46 is not going anywhere unless its towed. Turn your wheel all the way in one direction and lock the steering, pull your e brake up to the MAX, and it will be there when you get back...

no, there are much more up to date features in the E46 that are not present in the E36...concerning the ability to start the car with no key... virtually impossible on the e46's...

THis is true, but it is very simple to smash a window. My car was stolen and thats how they got in. They tried thedoor, no luck, so they took out a window.

The most common ways people steal NEW cars is, 1. They jack you for the keys, 2. They break into your house and steal your keys. Reason being, When they want to ship these cars out, they have to sell it with keys, and this is the easiest way to get them.

OR, they break into the dealership and steal the cars off the lot. (they did this at BMW mississauga.)

But you need not be worried about the dealership. So keep your keys in a safe place, like beside your bed, and not beside the front door. <-very bad place.

My '97 E36 was broken into through the window but they were not able to start the car so they just took the change in it. It's not possible to start. What year is your car?

As for my E46, I have the OEM alarm, which includes the motion sensor so window breaking will trigger the alarm unlike my E36 that didn't go off when the theft was in the car. I really recommend the OEM alarm for the E46 owners.
