Gas problem

This morning after driving to school i noticed that i had about 1/2 a tank of gas, but after sitting in the parking lot for about 10 the needle went down. Then after school when i turned it on i noticed that the needle was moving slightly up and down. Now that i'm home i looked at it and it says that i have 3/4 of a tank. What's wrong, should i make an appointment to have it looked at? i told my parents and they jut said that i was gaining gas, which is a good thing

Your sending unit(s) is shot. It's a warranty replacement, no worries. Common E46 problem.

I had the same problem. It's very minor, take it to the dealer and they'll replace it.

not only a common E46 problem, it's a euro car problem, many people have post threads about this and I given them the same answer, the sender units are pretty much supplied by the same company for euro cars, because of the crappy refinerys & distilleries for our gas we tend to get shitty fuel in Canada, plus the gas companies adding addictives isn't helping either, the sulfur rating in our gas here in Canada is through the roof, and Shell Canada has the highest sulfur rating, almost double the rating compared to Petro, Esso and Sunoco.
what I'm trying to say here is "STAY AWAY FROM SHELL"
