Engine mod suggestions for an E46 328CI

Well guys, its been well over a year now -- with winters, survived the snow, and summers going back on this weekend. I can honestly say it's getting better and better. Still 40,000 left on warranty, but getting the itch to mod up the horses. Read a little about dynos up to 217 hp with exhaust and CAI.

Not much in searches. What are your suggestions to get near the 330CI's hp? Many thanks.

All suggestions received gratefully...

Shark Injector seems to do a good job...CAI and Exhaust show minimal gains on the E46's.

What he said. Although, the deep roar a CAI provides will make your car FEEL a lot faster, which is all that matters anyway.

Your car is already plenty fast. A CAI and a nice exhaust will make it seem even more so.

I heard the Shark doesn't do much for the 325/330 but works great for 323/328.

ADD a CAI intake system and you will never regret it......Sounds awsome.

oh no! M10 has way too much power for E46 to handle, the rear end will rip off...how about one of those carb engines from 2002? omg! the NON turbo....it'll be insane

Hey Anthony,

Yeh, shark it and maybe CAI and exhaust but to give you lots of off the line punch change the rear diff. Im not sure what the gearing on a 328 5sp is but do a search on E46Fanatics. Lots of good info on diff swaps and the best bang for the buck IMHO. Might be my next mod...

My rear diff has been by far the best mod I have done as far as "power" goes. I noticed a huge difference. I totally recommend it!

get the ECIS intake + shark injector + pulleys + an exhaust, your choice, I prefer remus. You will not regret it, great combo for some very nice power on a 328. Recently on fanatics, someone just posted his dyno result from his 328Ci.He made 235hp to the Flywheel and 198WHP. All he had was intake, pullies, and exhaust with the resonator removed. and these are just the basics, there is still a lot you could do to add more needed power. Here's the link..
