weird sound coming from the car

Last night i started the car and as I was driving I noticed a weird sound coming from the car. It sounded like when you roll an RC car when its turned off. I have a feeling its my tranny cuz it just doesn't feel right when I drive. What do you guys think it is? My check engine light turned on two nights ago but turned off could it possibly be from that? Is it time for me to swap tranny to manual?

Rear end bushing whine I'd say.

How do I know? I've got a Dana 35 and a Dana 44 in my backyard that make that same sound, only the bearings are outside bushings, not inside bushings

BMWs don't have Pinion bushings? Or uh, just buy new internals?
