Euro plates - Illegal?
....in North America that is, more specifically, Canada. Right now I have my front Ontario plate in the windsheild, still looks ugly but much better than on the bumper. Anyway i'm wondering if anyone knows if it is legal or illegal to put a euro style license plate on the front with the "correct" numbers/letters. If anyone has done this in either the US or Canada lemme know!

I was going to say, half of the euro community has front euro plates...
Anyone old enough to know if you can get real euro plates and run them over here? When I was still a baby my father had a BMW and never used alberta plates, he had plates that he brought from Austria.

Illegal in Ontario.
My car came with a front euro plate... the car is from Montreal. Got nagged everytime a cop pulled me over here in Ontario.. even with my legal license plate in the windshield. It must be attached to the bumper, in the middle of the car. (on cars post-1990 or something, the license plate had to be in the middle of the bumper.. not off to the side.)

Don't some mid to late 90's cavs and grand am have the front plate off to the side?
Anyway, I don't have a front plate on my car nor do I have it in the window and I never get pulled over but I think the euro plate is gonna be more noticeable than no plate. It all depends on your luck though.

i think the law is simply that it has to be visible from the front, no?
anyways i went for a good month with my euro plate on the front and ontario plate in the window... got stopped/talked to by lots of cops, even got stopped for a speeding ticket... not ONCE did any cop mention anything about my plate.. or my "illegally" dark tints for that matter... if you dont drive/look like a punk, you wont get any trouble

no just visible, has to be at the front MOST.

having the plate on the windshield looks worse than having it on the bumper. imo
I've been driving without my front plate on over a year now, no trouble.

Damn ok that sucks then. I tried the no plate at all thing in the front, that didn't work for me. I got a $110 ticket within the first month. He didn't even give me a warning or let me say anything just proceeded to write me a ticket. The cops in Burlington are pricks... And i guess it depends what car you have on which looks better to put your front plate. On the E46 M3 the bumper looks so badass, putting a plate on it ruins it totally, i think so anyway..

Euro plates
Ontario plates are required on front and back but you can put the Euro plates under the Ontario plates. When you get to a show ,just pull the ON. plates off.
