Thumbs up Any suggestions on engine oil?

Hello M-coupe owners:
Anyone know what's the best engine oil for the S52 engine? The factory suggests to use 10w-40 or 15w-40 in the summer, what do u guys think? I've always seen my oil temp at the high side, should that be normal??(around 110 degrees on hwy, seen over 130 at track......) Thanks for the time.

i use castrol 10w60 on my previous e36 m3 and now the m coupe. This pretty pricy though so i'm thinking on using 10w40. As for the temp, i'm getting 50-80 right now maybe because it's winter?

PS: Post some pics of your coupe

Jeff

I'm running Mobil 1 15w50. For some odd reason the only time my car gets to full operating temp is sitting in traffic. As soon as I drive the temp drops....odd. At least the problem isn't the other way around.

I wonder if it hs anything to do with an advanced intake cam? Geuss I'll find out.
