Question Garage door opener

I want to install my garage door opener in my car so that I don't keep on dropping it between the seat or forget it etc.

I want to install it behind my gearlever where ther panel is with a couple of open slots for button's. I am going to drill two holes in the small piece of plastic to fit the two white button's through, and then the actuall remote underneath the "button panel", the only problem is how should I secure it there, I don't want to glue it on or something like that. Anyone have any ideas?

I did the switch in the fog light switch but didnt bother hooking it up to a 12 volt source. Just tape it up under the dash by the steering coloum and it works fine. He wanted a battery source so he wouldnt have to change the battery in the remote. Well how often do you need to do that? I think mines going on5 years with the same battery.
