M3 Coilsprings

Hi, i just read i thread about M3 coils on other E30.
i was thinking about that for my 325I 1989. everyone said that's cheaper thant after market and they'll do a nice job.

can you tell me ( for those who got them) the price you paid and where did you take them. Thx!

You can find mint ones for less than $100US. By mint I mean less than 20k mileage. Most go for around $50-75.

Note that you really, really shouldn't just slap on the springs. You will blow your shocks within a year. Bilstein Sport models work well with the M3 springs, but that just added a HUGE price to the upgrade.

thank for the advice... But does M3 shock fit?

for keeping stock shock with M3 coil it will kill them Less fast than after market coil with stock suspension.. since most aftermarket coil are lower and stiffer... ? ( that's a theory, correct me if i'm wrong)

AFAIK the M3 dampers will not work.

The stock ones will take longer to blow vs. say, Eibach Pro-kit, but they will still blow nonetheless. And until the day they do, the car's ride quality will be very bouncy and unstable.

The M3 shocks work, but the struts don't.

Correct. I believe that they have the same P/N # also. If your shocks are in good condition use them. If they are worn, replace them with something equal to or better than stock.

I had aftermarket e30 M3 springs (H&R)
That bitch was low with those on

Stock e30 m3 springs are a cheap upgrade, and will drop it around an inch (max), but do yourself a favour and either get e30 M3 shocks or a nice set of bilsteins (will rund you around $1000), otherwise your car will bounce like a civic

H&R Sports and OE E30 M3 springs are actualy pretty close in lowering. Can't go wrong with any of 'em.

The sports will lower it more than stock e30's but will cost you an arm and a leg

my shock absober an mint.. new for last summer. if i find some M3 spring i'll try them with stock suspension first... if it bounce to much i can have blistein sport shock for not too much ( one of my frien sell performance parts so I can have nice prices :-) )
