Does a 318i have a rear sway bar?
I was onebay looking at swaybars. One of the post said that a 318i has no rear swaybar. If this is true have would I install one?. Since i put the rear trailing arms and rear end from the 325is in i figure the rear is heavier. Plus i have the 2.5l in the front with the struts. So the car is way heavier. the fk springs and the new shock i am getting will help but NO SWAY BAR? can't be good
mind you I never looked So cut me some slack

If you have already swaped for a 325is rear end, with the linkages, you should be able to hookup a 325is rear swaybar no problem, or a 318is I believe would work too.

I took the entire rear section with the trailing arms and brakes. So there should be a place to hook it up?I guessa swaybar upgrade would be in order.why buy a stock one?

I could be wrong, but I think if you follow the control arm towards the front of the car there should be a hole just forward of the shock mount, and thats where the end link of the swaybar would go, and then the bushings to hold the bar up would mount somewhere near the axle with a U-Bolt.
Not 100% about this though, I would have to take a look under my car.

well this explains why i sway so. I was behind an Audi today on one of those circular off ramps and the Audi was oh so flat doing 35mph on 25mph ramp. Where as I was doing 30mph and was pinned against the door and tightly gripping steering wheel. I must admit these new cars may lack metal but have better handling.

Dont all cars have factory sway bars??
Take a look under there they are easy to spot and if you do have one maybe you just broke the sway bar link

Yes, the 84-85 318i have no stock rear sway bar, but the mounting holes are all there. Actually very easy to install, I did it on my 318i with a 325 rear sway bar. Just make sure you get all the rubber and clamps and they fit right in. I'm not sure how much difference it will make. I think I have one hanging around if you're interested.
Paul.
