hi guys,

i have a firend that just doesnt believe that i poped an E36M3, he thinks he knows more about BMWs then me, and im no expert so im starting to doubt ifi know anything at all... this is what i mean..

am i correct in saying that version has about 200whp or slightly more? Also the new ones have about 285whp do they not?

Well anyway please correct me if im wrong

I would say a manual tranny e36 m3 has about 215-220 rwhp

215-220... that seems a little high to me, but thats still ok, my friend was saying 225

i think i remember a dyno sheet of one, 206whp, or 204....

HP lost from engine to wheels is at least 15%, so the E36 M3 with around 204hp more or less would be most accurate

thats quite a bit tho. Lose a bit of weight on that car and it should move decently, well not that it doesnt anyway.

that's really just average, some cars lose a lot more, my old Lexus LS400 had 250hp at the crank, dyno testing it was about 200rwhp, but I remember an article about the old Mustang SVT Cobra R which had 385hp crank, when they put it on the dyno it came out to be 365rwhp, that's way less than 15%, but it is rare to find less than 15% HP lost on most cars
