What RPM do YOU launch at?

well here's one of my runs at the strip... My E36 328is manual

im stock so far but i did launch at 4000 RPM for this one after warming the tires up..... THERE WAS NO WHEEL SPIN!

also check out R/T (reaction time) ... its .595 seconds... which means if i would have launched at 0 or .1 seconds i would have hit 14.9 seconds!!

what do yall launch at?

isnt a .0 or .1 launch time humanly impossible?

Like in the 100m dash, there's a certain reaction time that they count as a false start cuz human's cant possible react that fast.

.500 is the MINIMUM. Less than that is a false.

I launch at 2200-2400 in opitimum conditions, but adjust for tempature accordingly. It the ground isn't dry I probably won't have anything on the tach at launch.

14's ??? it wasn't me ! I think it's possible though, specially if you can control the wheel spin.

That sheet, I found it on the net, it was just a dyno chart of a stock 328iS, didn't even use it.

A 0.500s reaction time is the best reaction time you can get. I think it has something to do with the time it takes from the last yellow to the green light. Btw, the reaction time does not affect the 1/4 mile time, I thought that at first too.

Those Acura RSXs have some power, I was coming from the AMC 24 in Southlake one day and was waiting on the light to turn green. The light turn green on the perpendicular side and a Silver RSX, in the left turning lane, took off. I don't know if it was stock but it went through the left turn pretty flat and the acceleration was smooth, but could have been auto .

oh yeah I usually launch at 3000+/-rpm, any higher and the car feels like it might take flight. 318 too...

I ran a 14.7, but I had a 3.15 diff, an exhaust, and the fan delete at the time. Reaction time does not factor into your time. You could sit there for 5 seconds and still have a 15 second 1/4 mile run. I also found out that burning out my tires made no difference, it almost made me slip more. I also launched between 3000-4000rpm.

You did pretty good for your first time
