E36 Heating control from F to C

Does anyone know how to switch it from F to C? I've read threads about pressing 'auto' and 'rear defrost' together but that doesn't do anything on mine.

Thanks!

I'm beginning to think I might have to wait for a full moon and stand on my head while pressing a dozen different buttons in order...

I just tried that too and it does nothing. I've tried pressing them at the same time, one before the other, pressing them briefly, holding them for 10 seconds (and drinking beer while doing all the above, that didn't help either...).

Any other thoughts???
