Need help with stock stereo

When I turn the volume knob, there is a crackling noise heard from the speakers. Another problem is that I don't have sound on the driver's side speakers unless I play around with the volume knob...by pulling and turning it. Any ideas on how I can repair this?

Thanks

Static in the volume knob. I fixed mine by literally just turning from off to max for like 5 mintues.

Do a search on google on cleaning the volume knob, you just take it out and spray it.

I think the speakers are fine because when I pull on the knob, the sound is ok....
