Poll:How many people think 17s are too small
Just wondering how many think 17s look too small on any BMW. I've got a good idea of what direction I want to go with my car for next summer except for the rims. I'm begining to think 17s are looking like 15s now a days and just wanted to hear what you guys thought.

There is a reason why the M3 rims on E36 were never bigger than 17".

Yep im still pimpin 15"s lol but anything over 16" would look fine on a bmw 3er / 17'' + for a 5er or larger car model. lol 15'' i still get a kick out of that lol

I don't think I like the tone of your voice haha j/k but anyway i've had my rims pretty much since i've had the car and i'm getting a little bored. I just don't know if I want bigger for my next rim plus I wanna move away from the M3 style wheels. You feel me?

R_Jay, your ride looks amazing with the 17 inch M3 rims. I wouldnt change a thing. 17 is PIMP The proportion is perfect for the 3 series

well this is kind of a weird topic, i think that it all depends what your going for, if you want funtion(trak days) i think that 17s are perfect for any bmw, but if you wanna stand out and are going for looks i think you gotta go 18 or bigger. i also agree that 17s are becoming the mainstream size, so anything less than 17s look odd

well
i dont think i saw a nice looking aftermarket 17" rims on e36.
18" is good
19" is all show.
personally i would keep the m3 rims and get a second set of 19" for show

Personally i think 17's DO look too small for a BMW, but thats because my last 2 sets of rims were 18's, and on an E36, they fit it PERFECTLY, 19's go over the top, but i think 18's are just PERFECT for E36's they fill the wheel wells just beautifully, HOWEVER, i've been through 2 different sets of 18's and i found they're TOO pointless if you want SPEED and if you track, and since i now know what i wanna do with my car, 17's are a must for me, or some LIGHTWEIGHT 18's, but i'm too poor for that!
R_JAY, unless your gonna track her, toss on some 18's AT LEAST!
or pimp it like MITCH and roll on 19's or better yet 20's!

In my opinion 17's are the minimum. They're the most bang for the buck, plus you have the most tire choices at that size, and they're pretty cheap. Once you get into 18"+ the tire prices start skyrocketing.
Unlike soldo, I'll recommend 17's if you plan on tracking your car (how many racers do you see with 18's???), and 18" for street.
I've had 19's, they can fit if you have rims with the proper offset, but I don't think they're worth it for anything other then show.
