Shamis... it's not the car, it's your record. In your case the liability portion of the insurance will rape you (required)... not the collision value of the car (optional). You can drive an M5 without collision or a '85 Ford LTD and either will still cost you $6500.00 (or whatever) for the manditory liability.

if you get a 4 dr car it will be cheaper also get a car that is least wanted from thieves .also a car that is not worth much .
ex( escort, neon, cavalier, sunfire and focus) or an old car prior to 1990 . then u will be paying insurance for a few yrs then get your insurance back on track. if you take the TTC then when you decide in a few yrs you want a car they will consider you a new driver . so better get some insurance and no accidents.

Bingo.....!! There's your answer.
Wait a few years for all your troubles to blow over. In that time, save some money and grow wiser.

You're gonna need to drive one full year of coverage without any infractions, collisions, or claims before you see any relief in insurance costs. I'm actually surprised are able to get coverage..is it Facility Insurance that's going to cover you?
If that's the case you are looking from anywhere of 6000 to 8000 to cover you for a year.

Agreed, so with $13K, buy a $2k car and the rest to car insurance (I'd pre-pay too) until your record gets better.

I’ve said this before, save your money, buy a cheap car like a Cavalier (which is also cheap to insure), and get 3rd party insurance. Jack up all your deductibles, and ride out the insurance costs.
If you want to do more research, go to http://<a href="http://www.statefarm...o/auto.htm</a> and start playing around with different cars on the quote (don’t put any infractions for this quote… this is just to compare different car rates).
Hyundai/Kia might be more to insure because of the cost of repairs if in an accident is more. The GMs are cheaper to fix because they are built like tanks.

NOT true...they are big, stick out, and are VERY easy to radar as compared to small cars. (Both of my tickets were in mini-vans, I also failed my G test in another minivan- I have my G now, I got it in the BMW, but I think Minivans are cursed!)

I think by cleaning up the record, that involves slowing down.
