Is this a good or bad idea?

I am think blinking side marker modification over the holidays, but electrical wiring is scary (because colors and gauges don't always match up). Would you consider this a good or a bad idea? If so then why?

Thanks in advance.

you mean to add the side marker to the fender?.. yeah, go for it... very simple modification and easy to wire up.. did mine myself... or you can go to a shop, they'll charge around $50-60 to do it including the price of the side markers. Just make sure that when you cut the hole to rust check that whole area!!

May be I was not clear enough. My car is an E30 3 Series 1984 318i with side markers that don't blink (flash). I want do a modifcation to make the side makers blink (flash) like signal lights/hazard lights. Here are a few links about this Flashing Sidemarker Lamps, How to make your E30's sidemarkers blink, and Side markers can blink.

It's easy, but use a volt meter to know which wires to splice up to..
