Thinking about froged internals, have ??

Right now my car is a 89 325i that i turbocharged. Im currently runnung 14psi, and have had no problems with that psi. The car really moves, but i want more power again. This spring i was thinking about stroking my car out to 2.9 liters using IE's kit. To complete the forged internals of the 2.9 liter kit i was thinking about buying Pauter forged connecting rods. I guess im curious to know if anyone knows how durable the stock rods are? Im looking to run 18-19psi, so i can be in the area of 350whp. The forged rods are 1,000 bucks, would it be the safe thing to just buy them to comlpete the forged bottom end? Thanks Dusty

My compression ratio is around 8.5:1 to 8.6:1, im not exactly sure because i had my head shaved to make sure its nice, and flat. At 14 psi my car is probably 310-315 crank hp, so about 260whp.

Shot peened rods and water/ alcohol injection ought to keep the detonation down. (You'll need to at that boost lever)

I do have water/alcohol injection, and a msd6btm ignition to retard the timing. If i redo it inthe spring im gonna put in an SAFC, so i can have the fuel tuned in.

I've only done my 1/4 mile time with a g-tech, and the best i got was a 13.5. Its hard to get a good launch, because i can't rev it up in first or i get way to much wheel spin, plus im using street tires. Also i still got the stock clutch in my car, i have a stage 2 clutchmasters clutch but haven't gotten around to installing it yet. So i think with some drag radials, and the clutch in it would be 2-3 tenths quicker.

You could see pics if logged into my roadfly account. Go to roadfly.com, at the top of the screen click on were its says my account. Then on the side click on were it says log into personal web space. My login name and my password are both chickenhawk. Then once you do that at the top of the page that comes up were it says website click that, and thats were my pictures are. I only use it to put some pictures in there so its fine by me if people know my password, and log in so check it out if you want.
