Interesting!

Think about this next time you go to court to fight a traffic ticket.

Pay particular attention to the last paragraph...

*...A justice of the peace is a judicial officer who performs such duties as issuing search warrants, deciding who is freed on bail, and presiding over offences under the Highway Traffic Act, such as speeding. They do not have to be lawyers. They are appointed to the position by the attorney-general, acting on the recommendation of committees made up of a senior judge, lawyers and representatives of the community...*

The guys YOU face in traffic court are not judges; they are appointed political hacks.

Tells you a lot about our Justice system, and the fairness of the JP's...they are NOT experts in anything, particularly traffic laws.

Hold your horses there bud. Do you absorb everything you read at face value? I think the keywords that got you steamed are 'recommended' and 'committee'. Do you really think those that were 'recommended' for public office by a 'committee' dont have the proper credentials? Have you looked at the 'Required' and 'Must Have' skills, backgrounds and qualifications of any Canadian government positons lately. Look again.

Rest assured they're qualified but not all are perfect.

Yeah, all Justice's of the Peace are just appointed friends, etc. Judges of Small Claims are usually lawyers filling in for the real judges who have bigger fish to fry than to worry about why you didn't pay your roofer the $400 to fix that hole.
