I have a favour to Ask.
There is a Youth Drop In Center starting up in Kitchener-Waterloo. The Waterloo Regional Police will also be helping out with a constable onsite sometimes for the street kids. It’s more of a fun safe area to meet. They already have a bunch of pool tables etc. They have renovated an old fire station into a drop in center slated to start in a few weeks.
Anyway, one of their goals is also to provide computers for e-mail, internet, and learning.
I’m currently donating a few machines I have lying around. I’ve got the main office systems covered, but would appreciate if some people could donate their old Pentium or Pentium II machines (if not being used). Nothing extremely valuable, but it’s better for these machines to be put to use rather than collecting dust.
You’ll get a tax receipt as well (they are setup as a charitable organization).
I think all would be needed would be something like the following.
- Pentium 166, 200, 233,
- 64MB Ram (I have some EDO ram as well I can add)
- 500MB to 1 Gig Drives
- 2-4MB Video Cards.
- CD-ROM not needed.
- Keyboard mouse not needed.
- Monitors not really needed. If you have one, great….

Parts would be great as well
- Even Just a 200Mhz Pentium Chip would be helpful.
- Old EDO Ram (16’s, or 32’s)
- 1 Gig Drives
.
Basically a machine that can run Windows 98, surf the internet, and run Word.
Once again, anything donated, I’ll try to get a tax receipt for you.
I’m currently donating an AMD Duron 1300Mhz/128MB Ram/40Gig Drive/52X CDROM/, an AMD Duron 650Mhz/128MRam/20Gig Drive/CDROM and a Pentium 166/64Mb/1.2Gig Drive/CDROM
PM if you can help.
Thanks again.
