it's all about bits and Bytes, kbytes are 8 times more than a kbits.
so one person 100KB/s (kilobyte) is anothers 800 kb/s, you aren't downloading at any special speed for a cable connection at 1400kb or 175KB/s
still beats a mo-dem tho.

one bit is 8 bytes
so, 1395 / 8 is 175 KiloBYTES

i have cogeco also
off the microsoft website i can hit 1 meg
on other sites i usually get 600kbytes easy
