Did they use a heat gun to soften the paint?

Everywhere(everytime) I read about fender rolling, it was advised to preheat(soften) the paint just for that only reason alone, so that the paint wouldn't crack. I hope they didn't chip the paint too much.

I was serious about rolling fenders with a baseball bat... i know of 4 people that have already done it with no problems... If you think about it, it involves the same physics...
