E46 M3 is maxed out when it comes to power. I have yet to see any aftermarket parts for it. For example, the E46 has been out since 2001, has anyone seen one that is supercharged?? Turbo-ed?? Not me.
Next M3 will probably have lots of room to play with, since it will come with more displacement

Rumoured V8.....
Hopefully they make the internals strong with low compression.

Many tuners have had FI in the testing stages, but can't get it working w/o severely castrating the reliability of the engine. I've heard that a tuner's already gone through two S54 engines at low boost.
Some of them are now looking into changing the internals, as a necessity rather than an option. But that's going to drive the price up considerably, if it can be done.
Also consider the feasibility of FI on a S54 engine.
If you bring a FI kit within 5 feet of that engine, you can kiss your warranty goodbye. That engine is 28G's to replace, plus installation, not if, but when something finally gives.

nah bro. any good info i wont deny, that mag is a good source, i like to debate not argue! hehehe.
but really i had no idea, i though that few if any Z06s could be that fast... im thinking that they tested that car somewhere down south though... and thats prolly why the time is higher.

Supercharged, WTF was that HOW CAN YOU COMPARE GERMAN HORSEPOWER TO US.
What kind of question is that???
HP do not increase or decrease when you cross the pond.
C5 vette will give E46 a good run, but Z06 will murder anything that BMW got right now on the market.
And yes there are some mods for S54, not a lot but they got them.
It will take time to do anything with them. Cars are pretty expensive, so mods come out later than on cheaper cars.
For example SC kits for M5 just came out.
AA Tuning just did Stage II Turbo kit for E36 OBD II, car went out of production almost 5 years ago.
And yes, RMS got supercharger for E46 M3
so photos of it with my own eyes.

I read that reliability was next to nothing though.

Hardly...
I can't see how you guys compare 1/4 mile times from mags etc etc there are so many variables.. The only comparison i'd agree with with be the 2 cars.. there on the day.. the same temps/alt and the same driver.
Tlaselva is the best source he because he has both!
