race gas is super expensive- one tank probably go more than $100.
You used to be able to get some at the airport (according to my friend).

There is nothing Canadian about Petro Canada except their name and logo. It is belonged to the US company.

Yes I know, that's why I directed my comment at his mindset. He attacked Canadian companies in general.

i know this is an old topic... but i was just searching... and came across this...
just wondered why you would want race gas?...
its a common misconception that MORE OCTANE = MORE POWER...
that's not true at all.... hypathetically if a car is designed for 94+ octane... the car will run the same whether its on 94 or 110 or 120 or whatever higher octane... there are even dynoed cases where you would actually LOSE HP if you run too much higher than what you're supposed to run...
all octane rating means is how much the gas can withstand compression and heat... so higher the octane.. the harder it is for the gas to detonate...

well i think Sunoco has the best gas in Toronto but the problem is they don't have many locations around the city so after that i usually use esso which i think is the second best and has lots of locations around.

In my truck I run Sunoco, Shell or Pioneer generally.
-Sunoco 87 until I have enough CAA points to not have to pay for next years membership
-Shell Bronze because of Airmile
-Pioneer 87 because of the Pioneer bucks (and I go there often in the summer)
In my car it's either Sunoco or Pioneer:
-Sunoco 94
-Pioneer Magmun (93)
The new software on my car wants 93 octane or higher. But even before the software, it was rare that I used anything else either then Shell or Sunoco. Shell is 91, Esso is 92, I don't even know what Petro is. I also won't put Shell in my car, never have.
Also, race fuel rules for cars with detonation problems, like either high boost, or high compression. If you have a car with mainly stock internals or boost pressure race gas is a waste of money. If you have a blown car you can generally turn up the boost with higher octane (if the engine is built to accept the higher boost without blowing something)
Yes, Euro Shell and NA Shell are two totally different breeds of fuel. Actually all Euro fuel is totally different then how it's refined for the North American market. As mentioned the octane units are different, and the Euro fuel has less sulphur, a lot less appearently.
