Those are gettin pretty rare, especialy ones that arent rust buckets

Me and my buddy always rip his 10th anniversary turbo II, takin it to the rev limiter, there is actually a horn that sounds at like 7500 rpm I beleive

I've got a first Gen 1983 Rx-7 sitting in the driveway... no rust, but it'll start soon. It hasn't seen winter until around 3 yrs ago.. since it's been sitting in the driveway. Blown engine. Completely stock.. with only 70k on the Odometer!

And I've had a 2nd Gen till I blew that engine too... stock it was a fast lil mofo... the Turbo II's are worse.

nah.. it's a solid car, I'd like someone to drive by and pick it up, drop a new engine in there.. or strip her down for a track car... perfect chassis. I think the handbrake siezed on her already tho... sad, I know.. but the garages are filled.. and I really don't have time to fix the Rx7. Only around $500 to drop another engine in there... but I've seen some crazy conversions done on those 1st Gen Rx7's... a 911 engine, and because the rx7 was so light the car would fly... RWD, it'd peel out all the time. I saw the guy sitting in a parking spot, with cars on either side... and he was there spinning his tires on the spot.. went up to 5th gear... kept dropping down to 4th and back up to 5th... for a good minute or so. Crazy mofo... lol.

suprisingly...friom 20km on i spanked an rx-8..and he was giving it....i heard that high rpm motor...as soon as it was high RPM he came right up...but when he shifts he falls back...i think that motor is meant for a VERY peak power band and below it theres nothing....but i noticed the E30 325 power band is very smooth and consistant above 4k...especially with a chip

A buddy of mine has a 89 RX-7 and hes been thru like 3 motors and 2 tranies already. It was pretty fast when he had no turbo. He was shooting flames out or his exhaust with no cat and a home made intake. We chopped the springs on it too. Now he has a turbo in it and he has a boost control on his laptop on the passenger seat. It's such a ****en sleeper car. I love it but those roterys dont last that long.

STOCK na second gen RX-7s are not fast at all .. you should be able to take him pretty easy .. but make sure hes not jus "telling" you that he has just exhaust and intake ... that exhaust and intake hes talking about might be him trying to con yah ...by saying that and actually having a bridge port or maybe even a godzilla port ... thos spinning triangles are nothing to mess with .... i say do it and post results

I dont think so
325 got more hp more torque, and weight only 60 pounds more.
It will be a close race, but Im pretty sure 325 will slowly pull away.

EDIT- actually checked car-stats. I dont think stock rx7 got a chance.

RX 7 GTU
0-60: 8.5
1/4 Mile: 16.5

325is
0-60: 7.5
1/4 Mile: 15.7

even with those numbers.. I just can't see a 325 beating a 2nd gen Rex. The handling and pick up on those things were just awesome... never ever had that feeling of being thrown back in my seat in a 325..

you sure you are talking about a non-turbo Rex?
both e30 and e36 325s got better power to weight ratio.
and rx7 is torqueless.

and feeling in acceleration is nothing. Vlad test drove 12sec E55. You cant feel a thing in it when you floor it, but when you look at the speedo, you just cant believe it.

Sick.. yep, sure it wasn't turbo.. it's one that I owned myself. But the feeling of power is just so much more immense than with the e36 325i... the pickup, the cornering, just.. the whole feeling of it. I'm not doubting your numbers are wrong... numbers are numbers, there's nothing to dispute there. It's just after driving both... altho I'm much happier with the bimmer... more of what I need... (especially with my height).... the Rex was just something else on the road in terms of "feeling the road" when you drive. Difficult to explain...

they are ment to burn oil that how the apex seals get lubed up. the stock seal can take a good amount of boost from stock turbos as long as you have the fuel tunned rigth and your not running lean. if you do then its byebye motor.

the jdm motor doesn't coem with that much hp stock. you can put a bigger turbo on and upgrae evrythign eles to make that powerbut you can't get oen that is all stock withtha much hp.
