Canon AE-1 35mm, state of the art technology (back in 1985)

I wanna get a new camera, I'm still deciding on digital or 35mm....

I had that camera. For a day. Then I kicked my own ass, and after I recovered, brought it back to the store.

I now have a Nikon Coolpix 2500. I really like it, just could use some more pixels.

Thinair - HEY! I got that camera too! I upgraded to the newer EOS about 2 years ago and it's awesome.. except for the fact that digital stuff is quickly overtaking the film biz.

If I still had the AE-1 now and getting a new cam.. I'd splurge for a digital SLR style camera. I find there's less limitations for digital - and better results with less moolah. (film gets pricey)

Oh yeah my dad has the same camera. It's great for taking car pictures especially when you want to set to focus to whatever you like.

Although I think digital's are great and compact, I just have thing thing where I like to have print outs of photo's I've taken.

So what's cheaper? buying 35mm film and getting it developed or spending more for a digital camera + money spent printing out the prints?

Yeah, it's quite a sight, expecially if the weather is nice and sunny. I was there in March this year, and there weren't too many people. In the summer I heard it's a total zoo.

328DTM - well it depends on what you're shooting. I'm usually taking pics of candids and moving targets - so if I'm LUCKY - I'll get 2 or 3 keepable shots out of a roll of 36.

Usually I'm shooting B&Ws so the processing fees are a bit more expensive than your typical 1hour jobbies. Plus it takes about a week or so to get it developed.

Instead, I will be able (once i get the digital) to shoot a ton - delete the crap ones - and only print the good one(s) all in the same hour.

Totally worth it to me.

Canon EOS 650 with portrait, wide angle and 300mm Soom lens.

Since I have to scan film on one computer then edit on a second computer then post them on a third computer, I think I'm going digital shortly. Randy's cam looks like a sweet choice.

Oh ya BTW I just spent the day scanning pics from Bimmercruise/SpudNation and Autumn Cruise and guess what?

My scanning computer's floppy drive just failed
