radar detectors (worth it)???

hey, i have never wanted a radar detector because i think they are a false sence of security. i am on probation now and would like to know if these things work or not?

I have a bunch of friends who have them, and they work tits...few use the Valente 1 and few use escort 8500, but pick off everything except now they are installing radar stations along the highways in some states so it triggers every few miles, however if your drivin in ontario you should be fine, just buy either one of those and then go on ebay and pick up a junker for 20 bucks so if you do get pulled over by a cop that has a radar detector detector you can just give him the junker

Get the best one you can afford, because they DO work.
I wouldn't say they're perfect, but the one I have (hardly the best one either), has saved me from a few tickets so far. Whichever one you get though, there WILL be some false alarms, but after a while of driving around with it, you begin to memorize the pattern of false alarms on your daily route, so if something beeps out of the ordinary, bingo! it's probably a cop
