Might get a 7er, what do you think?
Ok, this guy at work has a 1984 733i that he's selling, for $500, it has 300,000kms, its power everything, blah blah blah, so what do you guys think? Are these reliable? What should I look for? Thanks.

For $500 I say go for it. those old 7's are nice cruisers, and decent performers. Just remember that its going to use twice as much gas as your 325e, and if somthing does break, it is going to cost tons more. But if you are going to drive it till it breaks, what the heck....go for it

My dad had an 83 733i but I was to young to really remember it.....He loved it.....I think the engines are probably easier to work on because they are carb engines not fuel injected......
I would imagine parts would be expensive. Unfortunatly you said that you will drive it till it dies and don't want to spend any money on fixing it which is never the case. My e30 is in great condition and was when I bought it with many new parts and put it up on the hoist and it looked great with excellent service records......I still have had to put 2000$ into it, from a fuel pump to new wheel bearings, just stuff that is going to go on an old car and I paid $4000 with only 200,000kms and I thought I wouldn't have to put much money in it to keep it going, but I did.
I am sure things will pop up unexpectically that you will be forced to put miney into it. Just a word of advice, but it is a classic bimmer!

my uncle has a 1985 735i and the only thing that costed him big was new front calipers
other then that, it is at 350,000km and if he kept on drive it, it would be past 400,000km and still running fine
