Anyway.. sorry, didn't realise you don't have EFI, should be alright then !
Those were the qualifying engines. The ones that lasted the entire race still made 900-1000.

i was just stating what they made on a more reasonable durability requirement. Get your panties out of a bunch. It seems everything you have to contribute is negative.

M_powered,

Do you even have your car here in Toronto now?

It would be interesting to see a turbo'd 316. But 200HP at the flywheel or RW's is aiming a little too high. What's the compression like on the motor?

My 2 cents:

- Why not get a 2002ti/tii manifold instead of making your own?
- Fuel injection generally requires an ECU doesn't it? Even my dad's 72 DS had an ECU when it was EFI. Hell, my truck which is carbeurated has an ECU to control solinoids in the carb.
- I dunno about your 9-11lbs boost, which MB are you taking it out of? Most stock tubro's are pretty small. The 2002tii was a 2L and made like 170hp, right? What are you going to use to control the boost?
- Sure the 316 is good on gas, but adding a turbo will increase fuel consumption won't it? If not you'd run lean under boost.
- Why would you want to make the car illegal to use in Portugal, what are you going to do, remove the turbo every year when you go to the inspection because it won't pass emissions?

I don't mean to be negative, I just like to think logically.

the 316 will not need a computer because of the following

i will be using the 2002tii injection manifold and the whole injection system what im making is the turbo manifold
the 2002tii never used a computer to control the injectors the injectors ran by a pump connected to the motor and as the diesel cars runs on today !!
about the inspection ill tune it to not to burn any more emmissions than it does today bro dont worry my dad knows what hes doing !

MOTORSWAP time!

Seriously though, why can't you pass emissions with turbo?

I'd go the whole m20 swap and turbo that.

i think i will just build an all motor 2002tii motor
with the following things
high comp pistons 10.5-1 compression
headers
and a shrick cam 298 or 308
an easy 150-160 hp

Do you know how much Schrick cams are?

it's much cheaper to just get a 2L engine or something instead of investing all that money in parts
