Memo w/ regards to street racing.

here is waht i got in my email......
The Toronto Police HQ issued this memo from joint chiefs of police, to numerous
law enforcement agencies in the GTA, the memo is dated July 24th. The text that
I’m posting is not the actual memo, but it sums it up.

"The memo named a whole bunch of security companies that have their own vehicles
and do industrial alarm response. The memo went on to say that all of these
companies are being put on alert to watch for street racing activities in
industrial areas, especially those in Brampton, Mississauga, and Scarborough.
The companies are being given a special number to phone when they spot any
number of vehicles travelling in groups through industrial areas, or when they
spot what they think will be an impromptu drag race. They go on to say that a
special detachment of undercover police vehicles will be on patrol and in
standby locations to be immediately dispatched to these areas. It was also
saying something along the lines of security video from buildings and parking
lots being collected."

There is more to this memo, but my source was unable to produce the rest at this
time. I should have it within a few weeks. Stay tuned, and use that information
for yourself however you see fit.

I think it would be cool if the city bought out some old land somewhere, big open area, maybe to allow us to take out our "need for speed" on that area, and keep us off the streets, I mean, maybe have it patrolled ever so often, I just think that maybe that would help....... I dunno, whacha think?

well they don't use the base anymore.. I dont think, and they have a long air strip that they can use for a drag strip, I dun see why they can't.

But I'm sure they dont wanna promote the "sport"

well they should open the track at downsview to take street racing off the streets.....
thats the only way all racing off the streets will stop......
why dont we send a petition to our local city counseler to open one there im sure if we get enought of them we can get a track there.....
id say its a good ideia!!!!

AGREED this is bull, i mean to call a number when a group of sports cars are spoted, thats ridiculous!
its total sterotype and wasting alllll this money when CLEARLY the street racers have at least half a brain to do it at NIGHT when there is CLEARLY no trafic/kids/business people/etc. i mean it shows that were not CARELESS and INCONSIDERATE!!
C'mon give us a break already!
Like all week so far i've seen at LEAST 2 PIGS patrolin on the 410 for "SAFTEY" purposes (even though all speed traps are just a form of revenue for both the government and the police division!!) which gives them the right to do pretty much whatever, eventhough my safety is jeopordized every day by drug dealers and what not, but i've yet to see a CRACKdown on oh..lets say...... CRACK (like the name says!!! Why don't they call it a speed down, lol!)

Opening up downsview airbase is not a solution to getting racing off the street. When your at a red light and a car pulls up beside you and starts reving the engine what are you gonna do? Roll down your window and say.... "Sorry man... I wish I could race you right now but I'd rather do it at Downsview airbase! So let's drive really far out of our way to have a race." HELL NO!!! When your caught up in the moment you wanna be the man and you wanna take that biotch! Street racing will never end! And itz Dumb!
