BMW parts question...

I'm just wondering how much parts will be for my new BMW 325i here in Toronto. Maybe someone also could tell me where the cheapest place to get these parts would be. Or maybe just to Marello for them..?

- Xenon headlight bulb
- Oil filter
- Front/Rear brake pads

And maybe some other things people change more regulary on their cars..?

I see... just out of interest, the other guy said you can go to Canadian tire? Does that mean i can say the brake pads i need in canadian tire as well.. Will these be the mastercraft one's or the original BMW's? I've bought some stuff before at canadian for my cars and when i took out the original part from the car, say the air cleaner (which cost me $80 at roy foss) i noticed it was 100% the same, words, numbers, logo's, etc... the only diff was the mastercraft words on it... nothing else diff... So am i to assume that mastercraft brakes for the BMW are the same thing if bought at Marello, etc..?

Cdn Tire

Just a little something about Cdn Tire. Some things, I repeat, some - parts will be the same as dealer parts. More likely the parts they carry are made by the same company as the factory parts. And in case you guys didn't know. There are Cdn Tire Auto Parts stores that you can go to that have the capability to order you just about anything - even OEM parts.

Just my 2 cents.

I use to work at the Parts counter at Canadian Tire in Woodbridge when I was younger and I know that the Motomaster parts are actually brand name product only with the "Motomaster" labels on them. Filters (air and fuel) are made by Fram, spark plugs by NGK, tires by Michelin and Goodyear.

Well, after installing some parts myself, i realized quite quick that they were the same as the OEM parts.... This is done in the computer industry all the time, so it isn't new to me.

I don't see what the diff between having a part that says BMW on it and one that says mastercraft on it? This being the only diffrence? The part won't be any better or worse then the original BMW part.. Since they both come off the same line and have different stuff stamped on it...? Does it make this part any worse? I don't belive.. Now is there *are* parts that arn't original OEM parts restamped, thats a diffrent story...
