Headers??

Can anyone recomend any headers that flow/work well with a supercharged E46 M3?

AA headers, SS V1 or Agency Power

I found AA to have a easy hassle free fitment and have installed over 20 sets.

SS is always good quality, but for price it comes down to AA and AP. Note the flow differences.

I used the AA headers with my SC E46 M3 and was very happy in the end.

Thanks for the help. Is there somewhere where I can see the flow differences?

I can confirm that the AA headers is a TRUE equal length header, I installed a set of Fabspeed and it was not as good fitment as the AA, the O2 sensor placement is different slightly too.

I put 420whp on my Level 1 gen 7 kit, and when I finished Shaxx's car above he put 520whp. Both on same dyno. Before my car only put 396whp. This is both on same dyno.

What setup are you running????

If you'd like more info or want to talk about some options give me a call I'd be glad to help you out.

Active Autowerke

Agency Power

Fabspeed

Note where 02 sensor placements are, fabspeed bank 2 is right at the collector which is at the exit. AP has it placed a bit higher up, and AA being the highest - actually mimicing the factory setup so readings are calibrated to the ECU's parameters.

I am not sure if required but the flanges are quick thick on Fabspeed...sometimes those thick flanges require a swap to E36 exhaust manifold studs and nuts as theyre longer.

Thanks for all the info Jon, it's really appreciated, After doing a bit more research I agree the AA headers are the best bang for your buck!! So I went ahead and ordered a set.

I'm running a ESS VT2 550 kit that I bought used off a member from here. But it's still not quick enough for me. Next step after the exhaust is done I'm going to do meth and I'm hoping that will make a noticeable difference.

Maybe some gears in the future too just debating on if I should go with 3:91 or 4:10's. Leaning a bit towards the 3:91's.

I think after you add meth you will again notice a difference in HP. What WHP are you putting down now? For street and daily driving I think you should go 3:91. I see most SC set up's prefer these.

Haven't dynoed it yet, I'm going to wait tell I get everything finished IE: exhaust, meth and possibly a boost leak only making 6 PSI at readline. Hoping for 440-460 WHP when everything's completed and making 9 PSI.
But ya I think I'm going to go with the 3:91 due to the fact that it is a daily driver and I do a lot of hwy driving.

What do you guys do about the Rasp sound after installing headers besides installing one of those anti rasp mid pipes. Or is that about the only option?

I run catless with stock section 1 & 2 with Active Autowerke muffler, so it's very raspy.

Ya that's what I want to avoid, I guess the only way around that is to buy or make a mid pipe with a couple resonators in it.

So I went ahead and decided that it was time to see what kind of HP I'm making after driving the car for roughfly 2000 Kms with my AA headers I'm very happy with the numbers 512 HP and 367 Tq.
