i have a e36 325i bmw 1995 and i am thinking to buying some ones 1992 bmw e36 325i for parts… would it be a lot of money to change the auto into a manual and change the 1992 engine from his to mine ? his car is manual and mine is auto but my tranny went and when you put it into drive or reverse the car doesn't move and was wondering if i can take his manual l and put it into my auto same with the engine.

its possible to do what your considering best bet would be to pull the motor and trans from the manual car complete with all the wiring and computers. you will probably also need the drive shaft from the manual car (not 100% on this but i think they are different lengths) you will also have to change the centre console, cut a hole for the clutch pedal and probably some other things im forgetting at the moment

You do not need to cut a hole for the clutch line. It is already there just needs to be punched out. You will also need the hardline from the manual car. The engine/trans swap is not a huge deal. Use the search tool and you should be able to get everything you need.

I would be concerned if you only have a few of the swap parts. Considering you would have the whole parts car I don't think you need to worry too much.
