98 328is

anyone know how the heck to get at the nuts for the rear spoiler on a 328is, there are 2 rubber plugs but neither of the line up with the mounting nuts and I don't really want to take the liner out of the trunk lid unless I know for sure it would help. Just want to take it off to fix some rust at the mounting holes.

yep it's bolted on and factory as far as I can tell, but darned if if I know how they got it on there on a assembly line in 1miniute and I tried for an hour to get it off! got my finger stuck in the big hole and ripped some skin off...lol If I take the trunk liner off is there an access hole? I really don't want to remove it unless I know it will help.

OK maybe I posted in the wrong place, can't believe that no one has taken a trunk liner out but I will pop the Christmas trees tomorrow to see what is under there...hopefully an access hole to get at the nuts! Hate to do it I break the darn things and have no replacements right now.
