Not to nitpick your post, but James Bond's E38 was Aspen Silver.

nice car, does it move? 2.5td seems like it wouldn't be enough for the weight.

true. (typo - my car is aspen silber too)

Slow? its all relative It is not a fast car by any means. Official 0-60 is around 11 seconds I believe. I would describe the power as 'adequate' 1st, 2nd gear - good pull. Higher up, it is not a sports car lets just say - you cruise in this thing. Not for boy racers but it will still do autobahn speeds all day long. I have had it up to 175km/h and it holds the road really nice.

price - honestly just looking for offers at this point just to get a feeler and see what people think this is worth.

No, that's pretty damn slow alright!

Hate to say it, but i doubt you would find a buyer on this side of the ocean. Few people buy old 7's. Shipping and importing it would cost almost what the car is worth (if anybody even wants to get it). Don't get me wrong, i love E38's, one the best cars BMW ever made, but this one is very basic; common color combo, no sunroof, repainted body panels, and very very slow! I doubt you can find someone to spend more than $5K on it (if that).

I love the idea of a fuel efficient e38 and would be seriously interested if it was already here (even moreso in a 728i), but seconding what eurostyle said. The PO of my old e30 had it shipped from the UK and the total cost once it was street legal was about 3500. He paid 500 pounds for the car.

Out of curiosity, how much do e36 tourings (non diesel) go for over there?

I'd pay about 3500 if it was landed and super nice. Then turn up the boost.
Also, James Bond had a 750

I will have to check the colour.

yeah you guys are right.. that's the problem with one of these cars - you really have to import for yourself - not really a money maker when 740s are going for $2500.

e36 kombis? cheap as chump change - $1000 starting price and they go up from there! many of course are rust free
