i have some d2s/h1 projector retrofits coming in soon (think morimoto mini), maybe i'll see if i can do something with those.
if interested. I have a guy that does proper retro-fits of projectors into any light configuration, but I wanted the Angel eyes and more modern look as I hate halogen lights... Decided to keep new lights... Many more compliments vs detractors and I really like the look....

I think he meant for shorter gear ratios, not limited slip functionality.

Yeah i think i may do something like that myself. One of the manufacturers i'm dealing with in china is making a self-levelling retrofit, i'm holding out for that.

also, good luck with that kicker, i had a cvt654 that i blew out in about a week trying to get some spl in the cabin

The biggest challenge I faced with the Kicker is that I had to move back the enclosure about 1/4" to make room for it forward movement of the cone... it was smacking the base of the frame that runs in front of the lower half... I did mange to get it, but with real strong bass it still hits ocassionally... Think i'm going to try adding a washer to the 2 screws at the back to cause it to tip forward slightly... See if that gets rid of it entirely.

Going to try and tilt forward and then check each of the remaining speakers to see if any other are blown..Still sounds killer, but fine tuning so it will when cranked.

Congrats on the purchase! Car looks great, except for the headlights

Z3M protip: check your diff mount for cracks and popped spot welds.

I will definitely do so.... Feels tight back there, but I will definitely check. Thanks. A quick check from the top shows all rivets in tact... Need to jack up later today when it warms up slightly or I can go to my buddies shop tonight and check.... Thanks for the headsup.... Similar issues to the e36 BMWs i suppose.... I previously had an e46 and looked for the same issues.. sold it at 349,000KM and rear end was still in tact... The previous owner really babied this car; never winter driven and only driven in the rain twice when he got caught in it.... LOL... it's been driven more in the rain since I bought it than since it's purchase... LOL Hopefully, that plays in my favour...

Regarding the lights; it definitely been a topic of discussion on this thread but they look great in person and even those of my friends that typically don't like modding cars from their original parts all really like the lights when seen in person and I really like the look as well... so, they're not going anywhere soon... LOL

Weather permitting, this is what I'll be driving the spring cruise this year.... so you guys can raz me in person... LOL

Thanks!... Not only do they look great, but you can drive in them all day; they are so comfortable and have excellent support as well.

Well guys... I had to do another project on the Z which I didn't expect... I was having considerable battery drain where it would discharge over 12-14 hours.... DEAD!

Checked the battery and alternator and they were fine... Starting pulling fuses with the amp meter connected at the battery. Found Fuse 9 which provided constant power to the radio, HK main amp and HK sub amp was drawing approx 3.5A with the ignition off and key removed..... After some investigation I found the source to be the HK Sub amp. It was heating up like crazy, only functioning periodically and not shutting off... Additionally, it was also drawing 170mA even when I had just installed the fuse without powering it up.... Way too much... A buddy had an extra 240W rms sub amp and since the Kicker CompRT 6.5" Sub installed supports 150W RMS, this sub was perfect. Decided to run RCA cable from JVC Arsenal deck and sub.... Here are some of the pictures....

Still putting back together... Should be completed tonight... I need to figure out the alterations I need to make because of the larger amp size.......

You might've wired the acc wire incorrectly on your HU.

i think i mentionned this to you before but be very careful with that compvt, i blew it running way less than 150w.

Thanks. I double and triple checked that and verified with a meter.. The deck had been installed for 2+ months before the battery issues existed... During my testing to determine the cause I noticed that the Sub amp often didnt trigger and the sub wasnt working.... When Id remove the fuse #9 and leave it out for 5 mins and then install the amp meter in it's place, it would read 170mA. If i disconnected the sub connector at the HK, current would drop to 10mA. After reconnecting the HK Sub amp. the current would again go to 170mA. If i then powered up the HU, the current would jump to 3.5A and up depending on volume. Then if I turned off the HU, the current dropped to 3.5A and would hold steady indefinitely.

Checked and verified the trigger wire was connected to the antenna power wire as required.

Since installing the new sub with power connected directly to the battery and ground through a fuse on #8 power and #8 ground wires and using the factory white trigger wire, the new amp's green power indicator turns off when the HU is turned off. Last point, is the main HK amp shuts off properly using the same trigger wire....

I still have to fine tune the sub settings but it sounds good so far...
