335 coolant expansion tank

I have a 2011 335i x drive. This car came from the US but I don't think it should matter. The expansion tank for the coolant is different from what I normally see. It does not have the float that pops up to show the coolant level. If you look down inside you see a white disc that seem to be stepped with min on the lower side and max on the raised side. I did find a picture of one and it looks like they are on the X3. My question is are these used on the 335 also? I found two picture from the net to help, the one with the yellow is what I have.

I believe they may just be used on all the 3 series X drive cars.
