cost of a S54 swap and value of S52

Hi, I know there is many threads on this swap but I have 3 simple questions.I have a obd2 96 M3 and I really like this car but it need more power. I know LS swaps are the best bang for the buck but I really want to do it with a S54.

1- How much cost a complete S54 swap if everything in done by a speed shop and if I keep my 5 speed trans ?

2- How much worth a good condition 100k miles S52 motor ?

3- What is the best speed shop to do such a swap in the eastern Canada ?

If power is the only thing you want, and not the "cool" factor, a good supercharger setup will get you that for MUCH MUCH less than a swap!

If you're set on an S54 swap and have the budget to pull it off, I strongly recommended calling Stance Factory for a quote. They churn out these swaps routinely and are the best at it.

As the others have stated in this thread, Stance Factory is your best bet. This swap is pretty much routine as an oil change for them by now.

1) Call Jay and Mike from Stance Factory for a quote

2) $1200 - $2000

3) As echoed above, Stance Factory has done many S54 swaps

Don't go with anyone who has never done it before. You'll be in for a lot of surprises as they learn or try to figure it out.

That said Stance Factory is also known as the S54 Factory, I don't think is there anyone on the east coast who has more experience with this swap.

Call Jay to get a quote, but expect 12-15k

Better off just dumping your ride and getting an e46 M3.

Yeah, I can't see it costing that much either. He said he wants to keep his 5-spd. I'd say $3k for the motor, $3k for labour, and a couple grand worth of odds and ends.

$8-10K tops.

Personally i'd prefer an s54'd e36 m3 to a stock common e46 m3. Id say go for it especially if you plan on keeping it long term.
Stance factory will set you up right

Don't get caught up on the numbers, I was just giving a range, erring on the high side. There are too many variables and options, with some research maybe, but for a turn key option, I don't see it happening for less than $10k, if so then great.

Little things add up especially when it comes to the S54, Harness, ECU, ECU programming, Cluster, a ton of wiring, maintenance parts, on and on. I'm not sure if $3k is enough labour, that's only 30hrs at $100/hr. But again I'm no expert.
