if shenanigans like these continue my guess is not many. they will all get eaten by salt and rust, get parted out and or crushed. how hard is it to find a CLEAN e36 m3?

F'in right! The E46 M3 is a great buy and is a lot of car for the money. I'd rather buy into something like this with some age than a new civic or some generic daily that I'll hate being in.
My daily commute sucks and driving some ordinary car for most of the year while the summer car and driving smile hibernate only makes it worse. I understand taking any car through the salted winter isn't the best, but I'd rather enjoy the 2+ hours daily I spend in the car. I used to cringe seeing a local GT3 owner take his car through each winter, but now I think why not?

Not many would consider a rebuilt titled car with windshield rust issues mint.
But I do agree it was in decent condition with a harder to find color which made it worth a look.

Mint would be an original, non accident, non painted, clean car with no rust and excellent mechanical condition with maintenance records.

Amen. Hurts to see salt on it, but that's what car washes are for. Again, if it was a highly collectable version, sure, but mine is an '01 (OH NOES THE ROD BEARINGS GONNA BLOWD UP) in a common colour combo. Nothing beats smiling every time you drive.

Yeah, mine was one of the first that they replaced the shortblock with a fresh sealed unit from the motherland.

lol i actually can't eat doritos, because i'll eat the entire bag if i have even one chip.

so if you're recalled what do you care? you have a 2003 motor and your car has less miles than stated. you can probably get the dealer to give you deets. my car was serviced at budds, i've asked them like 10 times to fax over the service records but they never have. i'll have to go over there i guess.

^ I'm not worried at all, just being sarcastic about all the people claiming that 01's are to be avoided....anything that was going to fail prematurely already has at this point.
