Parts car pricing? (wrecked / salvage)

Let's say I wanted to find a low-mileage wrecked E46 M3 to use as a parts car, where would I go to find pricing history and source one?

Bimmer Heaven, the classifieds section here, or kijiji.

If you get lucky to find an M3, Pic-N'-Save in Hamilton has amazing prices and professional staff. Usually only see standard E36/E46's here, and several older E39's. Numerous members on this forum try to flip parts from this yard.

Another option is Miller's Auto Wreckers in Fort Erie. Probably the most civilized and organized yard in all of Ontario, but quite a drive. I'm sure you can be put on a shortlist if an M3 were to come in.

I've been here twice, both times coming to the conclusion that this is possibly the worst yard I have ever visited. I was hard pressed to find anything even remotely modern.

Unless it has changed over the past year, or you live right next door, I wouldn't bother.

They have a ton of modern cars, but they are not in their "you pick" yard.

all the "good" cars going to the restricted yard...you can go in with somebody from the yard to take a look but you can not take out the parts

Just to clarify, I'm talking about getting an entire parts car in 1-piece (or whatever's left of it).. Not looking for yards parting out cars.

If I can't pick them, that usually means a high price. What are your experiences in this regard?

Their main yard is old junk. No pun intended.

salvage m3's (mostly hit hard in the front) go for about 4-5k on ebay, use that as an estimate

Are you talking about Standard Autowreckers or Miller's Auto Wreckers?

That's true, but lets get real here. No one gonna put an E46 M3 in a You Pick yard. People that go there don't usually care about how they remove parts and cars get trashed quickly and new cars still fetch a lot of money even when crashed.
