Imagine if this stuff added structural rigidity with minimal weight penalty?
That's why it's used. I wrapped a complete bike than ran in the super bike series. He provided the fibreglass farings (all of them) and I wrapped in carbon fiber and he ran it that way for 2 years. It was super quick and the additional strength added by the carbon worked well. Never had to replace one wrapped part due to stress fracture/failure.

When we wrap cosmetically I use 1 layer of cf cloth. When you wrap for strength you use multiple layers vacuum bagged together to form a single structure. Molded cf parts require 6-7 layers compressed together to provide the structural rigidity required.

So yes I've have many clients provide fiberglass parts to be wrapped over the years to provide additional strength as well as the cf appearance.

I wonder if a 55/45 or 10% difference can even be felt in terms of balance/handling.
335i xDrive is not 50/50 from the factory. It it 54/46 actually

I knew it wasn't 50/50. Just wasn't sure of the exact distribution. That would explain the slight oversteer I feel on it. Heavy nose means the back end will come around, however the AWD keeps it from braking lose. The couple times I've pushed it and back end has started to come lose it'll do a slight "wiggle" and then the front wheels take over and pull it back.

Its special order trim from what I understand.. Under the BMW VIN decoder, I have aluminium glacier-silver trim. its a stamped pattern in the aluminum that the boys at Maranello haven't seen before.... They are the ones that suggested it was this Individual Trim....

Nice air freshener eh? Been replaced by a vent one now....

Glacier Silver trim is standard on M Sport. Nothing Individual about it.

That could be true as I thought that it was standard M3 trim, but the guys at Maranello said it wasn't the standard M3 trim (I'll check next time I'm there)....

Some random at the dealer has very little knowledge on detailed specifications on these cars.

If Vlad says it isn't an M3 trim nor an Individual trim - I'd put money it isn't. He has more data on these things than some Joe Blow going by the pamphlets at the dealer...

ZMP is a code for the M Sport package. Keep in mind, it is only used in the US. Canada uses different package codes and unlike the US codes they change with every model. In your case the code for the M Sport would be ZKJ
