2004 E46 ZHP Tire Size Question

Stock is 255 35 18 in the back and 255 40 18 in the front.
My question is can I put 255 35 18 in the front also?
I think I should, it might change my speedo a bit , but is there other real disadvantages?

You are absolutely right, my bad. So that would answer my question. Which would be no. I think 255 would defiantly rub correct?

Are you using the stock 135M wheels? Do you plan to mount the 255/18 on the front 8" wide wheels, or use another set of 'rear' 8-1/2" wide wheels in the front also, so you can rotate tires?
I have read about people with 255/18 in front and seen pictures and they say no problem and no rubbing. If are lowered it could be an issue. This is square setup (non-staggered) and gives more neutral handling and lots of grip in turns.
Can expect some increase in tramlining, depending on the tire. More chance of bending a front wheel, since lower profile.

I have a set of rear ZHP wheels with tires on them if you want to try mounting and see how it does.

Basically I want to know what's the max tire size I can put on the front stock zhp wheels without the tires rubbing. My setup is stock.
And I know about the square configuration because I had it on my e39 m5. In this case I don't want to change wheels just use the stock front size. (Whatever the width is)

Can I use up to 255 on the front wheels?

Funnily enough, there is more room and freedom in the front than there is in the back on these cars as long as you use the three variables of width, offset and camber intelligently. I have tried several combinations and now run 255/40/17 on 17x9 ET 41 all the way around. It is the best setup I have found for combined street / track use.

If you are keeping your front wheels, the only size you can really practically move to is 235/40/18. Beware that as you get fancy with tire sizes, your selection of matched Pairs gets really thin. Also, since there is little to be gained going from a 225/40 to a 235/40 on an 8" wheel, you might as well keep it stock.

As to your speedo question, the speedo signal comes from right rear ABS sensor.
