what is a good radio to get for communication during cruises

For every bimmer cruise ive been to the post said to bring a radio, "FRS" or something. what is the best type to get for around 50 bucks or less?
"Bring an FRS walkie-talkie" quote from 2013 bimmer cruise post.

This can be a good option for a comms radio...
http://www.amazon.ca/Cobra-75WXST-40.../dp/B00005N5WW

It has all 10 wx radio stations in it plus the full 40 cb radio channels... the install is very stealthy as only a small base box has to be attached to the car, you can use a magnet mount ant. on the trunk lid.

With one of these you can stay in touch with other drivers... get updates on wx/traffic/cops and have another way to call for help if needed...

ideally on a cruise the leader and sweeper [last car in the cruise] would both have radios and help keep the group together and co-ordinated.
