Back in an M5 Cali style.

As some of you know I`ve moved to California and sold my old M5 just before leaving...
I knew I would replace it with another, but I wanted it to be more fitting to my environment....

OLD
'01, E60 shifter, H&R springs, muffler delete,

NEW

'03, Cali car, 2 owners before me. 19" BBS CHs, euro front rotors, Supersprint exhaust and x-pipe. Drives like new.

Waiting to be installed: lots of goodies

Nice! That didn't take long. I envy you so much. We just got hit with more snow last night -_-

Does it have the two-tone grey/black interior? Think I saw the listing on M5B.

That's the one. It's so clean it's unreal. Only thing is it was a LOT more than what I sold my black one for. But it's exactly what I wanted, so I'm happy.

Cali is awesome. I should have moved here years ago

Nice. I hope you kept the rims from your black M5.
I'm not sure about those BBS CHs.

I sure did. They'll be going on after I put the suspension on.

Thanks all. Beast left me stranded today. Only saving grace is it died just as I pulled into a parking spot at work.

Quick diagnosis pointed to the fuel pump.

Now here is the big difference between Canada and the US. I called the local dealer (4 min away) and asked for the cost of the part. He gave me a price and they actually had it in stock. I asked if they would price match an online source, and they said sure, no problem.

Result I had the pump for $200 less than initial price, matching the cheapest price on-line, and I didn't have to wait. Try that in Canada!!

Had the car towed home, CAA FTW, and had the new pump in and the car running in under 30 min.

That's what you get for posting about your EX. Cars get jealous too!!! Nice save... and interesting story.

None of the BMW dealers in TO would sell me the E39 rear ball joint press. But I got one in Atlanta no problem.....

Yup, BMW Canada stopped selling tools to the public about 2yrs ago. Stupid if you ask me, but hey you have to protect your dealerships somehow.

They pissed me off more than anything... Even though they wouldn't sell it to me, they told me it was $1000.00 (BMW Atlanta sold it to me for about $180). On top of that, the parts department kindly passed me to the service department for a quote.... 16 hrs.

So when I got the tool and the ball joints for two E39s, my buddy and I told our wives we'd be busy for the whole weekend...32 hrs after all. We completed two cars in 4 hrs and we were wondering what we missed. Maybe The dealer wasn't going to use the tool???
